Mazda 2: Crash Zone Sensor

CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNING:

1. Switch the ignition to off.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.

3. Press the tab in the direction of the arrow, then remove the cover in the direction of the arrow (1), (2) as shown in the figure.

4. Disconnect the connector from the crash zone sensor by pressing the connector tab and pulling out the lock lever in the direction of the arrow.

5. Remove the nut.

6. Remove the crash zone sensor.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

8. Switch the ignition to ON.

9. Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and goes out.
