GENERAL PROCEDURES (FRONT AND REAR AXLES)
Wheel and Tire Installation
1. When installing the wheels and tires, tighten the wheel nuts in a criss-cross
pattern to the
following tightening torque.

Tightening Torque
- 88-118 N*m {9.0-12 kgf*m, 65-87 ft*lbf}
Connector Disconnection
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable before performing any work that
requires handling of connectors. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
Suspension Links Removal/Installation
NOTE:
- To prevent the bushings from being twisted or pinched, perform the
procedures with no
passengers or luggage aboard the vehicle.
1. For the joint sections with rubber bushings, raise the vehicle using a
lift and temporarily
tighten the installation nuts and bolts, then tighten them to the specified
torque with the
vehicle placed on the ground.

Wheel Bearing Play Inspection
1. Inspect the wheel bearing play in the same way as the front axle. (See

and do not allow anyone to stand
behind a wheel when pushing the
vehicle:
When the vehicle is stuck, spinning
the wheels at high speed is dangerous.
The spinning tyre could overheat and
explode. This could cause serious
injuries.

BRAKE FLUID INSPECTION
1. Verify that the brake fluid level in the reserve tank is between the MAX
and MIN marks.
If the brake fluid level is below the MIN mark, add brake fluid.

Keep the fluid level in the reservoir at 3/4 full or more during the air
